Anastasiya and Daniil were married on 21st July 2018 at The Lawn in Rochford, which is just down the road from me. I'm recommended by The Lawn and I love setting up cakes there as it reminds me of my own wedding nearly 20 years ago now (and the first wedding cake I ever made).

Anastasiya and Daniil's cake consisted of 3 sponges - 9" round raspberry and white chocolate, 7" chocolate orange and 5" carrot and walnut. The cakes were were given a "semi-naked" finish (where a thin layer of butter icing is spread over the sponges so you can still just see the sponges underneath). I then decorated them with beautiful fresh flowers (supplied by my favourite florist - Faith Gurel from Faith in Flowers).  I know some people worry about using fresh flowers on cakes, but I use little food safe plastic holders for each stem so that they can be safely set in the cake without risk of transfer of sap to the sponges.
