This portion guide is based on a standard 4" tall cake. It acts as a guide only as actual portions depends on how big each slice is cut. Dessert slices are generally only used if you are having the cake served as dessert on side plates and with a fork. Finger portions are more commonly used when the cake is going to be served buffet style.
Please ask for more information about portions if you are having taller "double height" tiers.
