I'd not had a chance to visit Layer Marney Tower before, so it was lovely to get the opportunity to see it for the first time on a beautiful summer's day. I wasn't disappointed, as I arrived at a peaceful Elizabethan courtyard beside the impressive tower, just as preparations were beginning for Chris and Shivon's special day.

Their cake was set up in the grand oak panelled reception room and featured a subtle marble effect with a wrap of hand made peach icing flowers. The flowers reflected Shivon's bridal flowers and ranged from a statement Dahlia and English garden roses to peony and foliage. The Dahlia consisted of numerous hand shaped, veined, wired and coloured petals and took well over 3 hours to make. A labour of love, but well worth it for the end result.
