Beautiful rural countryside passed us as we drove to set up Jo and Phil's wedding cake in early September. We eventually arrived at a lovely traditional country village church and hall in the heart of Devon, which was to be the setting for this special day. Fingers were crossed for the weather as rain was threatened but apart from a slight drizzle first thing, the weather held for all the important events of the day.

With my daughter, who is now a fully fledged baker, alongside me helping, we set up Jo and Phil's wedding cake. Their "naked" style cake was adorned with fresh red berries, flowers, a pretty natural topper in wood, a generous sprinkling of icing sugar and a little surprise of some macarons (made by my daughter) which were an unexpected extra just for Phil.

Jo and Phil's original date in July had been cancelled very last minute due to Covid, but the wait meant that their day was all the more special! A beautiful day, heart-warming ceremony and joyous celebrations with family and friends made this the perfect day for this wonderful couple. Congratulations to you both and wishing you every happiness for the future.
