There's something really lovely about creating a cake that's a little different, so I was super excited to make Gemma and Lily's Silver Birch woodslice themed wedding cake.

The cake was finished in hand textured and painted butter icing to give the bark of the wood and I then added the effect of the wood carving for Gemma and Lily's initials. The cake was then finished with a delicate Mrs & Mrs wooden topper and spray of faux flowers.

This lovely couple celebrated their special day at one of my favourite venues, Apton Hall in Rochforfd, which looked as lovely as it always does on their spring wedding day.

Sending heaps of congratulations to Gemma and Lily and wishing them every happiness for their future together.
