Another trip to The Lawn saw me setting up the wedding cake for Jamie and Alan. They were having an intimate wedding at this lovely venue, which looked beautiful in the early spring sunshine.
Their 3 tier cake consisted of an 8" round Lemon & Elderflower sponge, 6" round Chocolate sponge and 4" round Strawberries & Champagne sponge, which were all filled with butter icing an then covered with a semi-naked whitened butter icing finish. The cake was set on one of my wood slices and my ever popular wooden crate.
2 very special additions were made to the cake in the form of little hand-made models of Jamie and Alan's 2 dogs, which I'd made using photos they'd sent to me. The cake was then finished with an acrylic topper and vibrant faux sunflowers. The venue positively glowed a wonderful warm yellow with all the flowers set around their cake and tables.
