I always love a visit to Blake Hall, a beautiful exclusive barn setting near Ongar in Essex, and this was certainly the case when I set up Natalie and Michael's semi-naked wedding cake for their October wedding.
This cake was a fun theme of delicious cake, decorated with hand-made doughnuts and doughballs coated in sugar glaze and sugar crystal, then accented with fresh flowers and foliage (carefully prepared to make it safe to set on the cake). The cake was finished with a personalised topper in black acrylic.
The most important part of the decoration however was the addition of their much loved cat. These cheeky head and paw models were made in icing, using photos sent to me by Natalie and Michael.
Their 3 tier cake was made from a 9" white chocolate sponge on the base, 7" red velvet sponge in the middle and 5" carrot & walnut sponge at the top.
